V82A/T/F/S: Primary PI mutation that reduces susceptibility to LPV,
IDV, RTV, and also to NFV, SQV, APV, ATV when combined with other
PI mutations. V82I: Polymorphism with minimal effect on PI
susceptibility. V82M: Seen with subtype G infection; reduces IDV
susceptibility. V82L/T: Contribute to TPV resistance in presence of
other TPV mutations.
N83D Contributes to TPV resistance in presence of other TPV mutations.
I84V/A/C I84V: Decreases susceptibility to all PIs: greatest effect on APV, NFV,
SQV, lowest on LPV. Contributes to TPV and DRVresistance in
presence of other mutations. I84A/C: Effects similar to I84V, but rare.
N88S/D N88D: Intermediate resistance to NFV; low-level resistance to SQV,
ATV. N88S: Intermediate resistance to NFV, ATV; low-level resistance
to IDV; hypersusceptibility to APV.
L89V: Contributes to DRV resistance in presence of other DRV mutations.
L90M By itself, causes intermediate resistance to SQV and NFV and low-level
resistance to other PIs. Contributes to TPV resistance in presence of

I93L/M I93L: Common polymorphism that increases PI resistance when
combined with other PI mutations. I93M: PI mutation with unknown
effect on PI susceptibility.
